Eye Chart

I have wore glasses since I was nine. I still remember that I was examined by eye chart with wearing stupid-looking horn-frame glasses. Whenever I was asked what a man pointed out on the eye chart, I frowned to see it more clearly. Since then, my eye sight has gotten worse and worse, never recover (smile).

But, situation might be different. If this sort of eye chart comes out little bit earlier. I would have the better eye sight. - kidding (smile)

It Bites Too Big !

This fish might seem to be desperately hungry. It bit and swallowed other fish, which is four times larger than it. As a result, its belly burst drove it to death. In gerneal, the food chain allows that the big rules over the small, and the strong does over the weak. But, in the extreme situation, this might be broke up ...

He Is Not A Prayer, But A Cake Lover ...

This is a photo, which daniel's kindergarten sent me a few weeks ago. I'm not sure what this photo took. But, as for me, he seems to pray before cookie time. - sometimes, he used to do it at dinning table just like what he've learned in the kindergarten.

Look at him. He opened narrow eyes and examined what was on the table. He couldn't wait for the end of prayer with holding uneasy feeling, which is that somebody else might take out his ...(smile)

Google's Massive Acquisition Never Stops ... - Jaiku

Successive to acqusition of zingku, google has bought another mobile application company, named jaiku. Well, google cannot be almighty in the all over the technical fields, but they strengthen their power through offensive M&A when they feel that it's needed. By the recent acquisiton of the both companies, that is, zingku and jaiku, it's very evident that google wants to step in the field of the mobile.

That said, new user sign-ups have been limited for the time being. The idea here is to enable our team to get right to work with Google’s engineers on delivering a new, better service to you as quickly as we can instead of spending our efforts on optimizing the current back-end. Existing users will still be able to invite their friends, and those who are not yet on Jaiku can send us a request for an invitation to join. [Read More ...]

Something Special in Starbucks Korea

Korea might be the place where starbucks coffee is sold the most expensive. Do they add something special in it for the better flavour in Korea?. Unlikely(smile). Although their ludicrous pricing, even in today, many people in Korea stand up in the line for waiting for their order.

Yeah, here is another, which you only find in starbucks Korea. you can find price for size grande on menu, and tall size, too, but not for short size. Where is it? At any moment, it has disappeared on it. Insteads, a sentence with tiny tiny font size on it reads "when it comes to hot beverage, you can order short size." - quite sneaky marketing strategy, huh? As howard schultz said, Is that one of culture they try to sell?

Little Modification To Random Background Image Hack

Well, it's not a big change, but I just post this by thinking that there might be someone who need this. Okay, I do little modification to random background image hack. In the earlier version, random selection should be considered within the index ranged from one to number of images. But, I realise that this limitation could be uncomfortable in the case that you just need to have images are randomly opted just from the newly added images. In short, what I actually do is random selection could be done in the range starting from not one, but cerain index.

At first, go to the "Dashbord -> Layout -> Edit HTML", and check "Expand Widget Templates". Don't forget to backup your template(smile). Then, find javascript function named "loadSiteTitleBackground". A little bit above of it, you can find codes given as below:

<script type='text/javascript'>
var picHostURL = "http://YOUR_GOOGLE_ACCOUNT.googlepages.com"
var numPic = NUMBER_OF_PICS;
var PicExt = "jpg";

In this section, add new parametre named to "begPicId". This indicates that the begining index of the image, which random selection is considered. So, you just write number instead of START_PIC_INDEX.

<script type='text/javascript'>
var picHostURL = "http://YOUR_GOOGLE_ACCOUNT.googlepages.com"
var numPic = NUMBER_OF_PICS;
var begPicId = START_PIC_INDEX;
var PicExt = "jpg";

At next, go to the function named "loadSiteTitleBackground". In body in it, you can find code like this.

...

ranPicId = Math.random() * numPic + 1;

...

in this code, replace number "1" to "begPicId" just given as below:

...

ranPicId = Math.random() * numPic + begPicId;

...

Then, test whether it works fine(smile).

Rememble Launched

There are already several web-based photo organising programs such as flickr, picasa web album, and so on. Maybe, those of two most got fame in public. That's why two major search engine companies (i.e yahoo and google) bought them, respectively.

Here is another. Rememble has offically launched getting out of its beta test. Strictly speaking, it is hard to say that it is web-based photo organiser, and beyond it, it doesn't supports photos but it does also other multimedia files such as audio clips, and text. Well, at first, it caught my eyes with well organised UI, and the most salient point is that users can align all events in line with timeline. Does it seem to be intresting? Try it, it's free(smile).

Samsung, Bang & Olufsen Launch New Music Phone

Recently, many other companies might have also thought the importance of design once again. That's why LG goes in with prada, and samsung does with bang & olufsen. - negatively speaking, they might use partners reputation to gain more attention from the customers.

Since launching their first joint product named to "serene", samsung and bang & olufsen officially launched their second one named "serenata music phone". Apparently, its apperance is quite distintive. It is exactly something like what we've known as bang & olufsen - bizzare shape (smile). Anyway, I think that it's not for ordinary people. Why? bang & olufsen is famous for high pricing. I guess, so might this ...(smile)

Bang & Olufsen and Samsung made their new Serenata music phone official today, as promised, sporting the distinctive look and sure-to-be ludicrous pricing that B&O is known for. Loaded with 4GB of flash memory, the Serenata has a built-in speaker that's designed to pump out your jams with no headphones necessary. I'd say don't use this on the subway, but anyone who can afford a B&O phone doesn't use public transportation. [Read More ...]

According to BetaNews, there's going to be a Zune Event in Redmond tomorrow to launch the next-generation Zune. Bill Gates and J Allard are supposedly attending, but supposedly it's just an announcement, with the players only being available in November. Not much else is known now, including whether there's going to be just a flash-based Zune or both a flash-based and a newer hard drive-based one. Will it look anything like the Toshiba T400? Ex Googler Launch New Service - FriendFeed

Ex-gmail engineer, paul buchheit released new service named friendfeed. It's quite interesting sercive. The friendfeed enables users to know their friend's activities on the web. For example, When you get on the page, you can see the lists, which show who update, what kinds of multimedia are updated, time, and so on. Outwardly, its UI is very similar to googles. - that's why it also made by ex-googler. It's still on the beta test. If you're interested, try it ...

Friendfeed is a cool new service co-founded by ex-Gmail and “don’t be evil” inventor Paul Buchheit. Friendfeed (which partly looks Google-like, too) tries to solve the problem of keeping track of your friends activities on the multitude of social networks, blogging tools, photo upload sites and so on... a kind of meta aggregator, sitting on top of popular websites watching for news. No more everland. Well, it's true that there are not many places where family enjoy together. Personally, I want to give daniel more chance to experience life in nature. - Recently, many kids have grown up not knowing how to cultivate wheat, rice, and barley, instead, have played with toys usually made of plastic. Though you don't live in YongIn, I strongly recommand to visit there. It's really nice place to go especially in autumn ...

Google Aimed At Mobile ...

Here is another interesting article about google's recent favour of mobile. The article starts by saying that google's interest to broadcast signal auction. If all would become as what this article says. Google might establish new mobile paradigm, the fall-off of other carrier companies is matter of time. Too spooky ...

By 2015, Google might have built out its network and destroyed the cell companies’ way of doing business. This is what Google is good at. Look at how it upended online maps, email, and the internet-advertising industry. Once the juggernaut conquers communications, it will no doubt move on to disrupt some other industry that’s fundamental to Western society in the 21st century by giving away yet another commodity. Like free Google coffee. [Read More ...]

Google's New Shopping Item - Zingku

Google might think that pc-based services are almost saturated. A series of recent rumour such as gphone give us clue that google gradually move their influence to mobile environment. Recent acquisition of zingku make us think that it is really true. One of my co-workers told me that what google does is like go board game. in the begining of game, each of black and white stone seem to be set randomly, but in the end of game, either of coloured stones surround the other ...

Google Inc. has acquired a mobile social networking start-up called Zingku Inc., the search company's latest move to provide more services through mobile phones. Zingku aims to make it easier for people to share photos, send invitations or conduct polls among friends via mobile phone. It also provides a way for businesses to send "mobile flyers" to customers advertising products and services. [Read More ...]

MS Web Office

At least, about ten years ago, there were few chasers for microsoft in the field of s/w. Who knows that this situation has changed? According to the news, microsoft relases web version of office named "microsoft office live workspace" to come up with google's docs and spreadsheets. Anyway, it might be true that microsoft has got through tough time ever since it has founded.

For Microsoft, Office Live Workspace is also the next step in what the company touts as its "software plus services" strategy, essentially the notion that online services can serve as a complement to locally run software, but not necessarily fully replace software running on a consumer's own desktop machine or on a businesses server.
